This SE-SEM micrograph shows an example of the rare diagenetic, illite clays that occur in a core sample from the Brown-Snowplow 1-5 well in the Michigan Basin. This micrograph was collected by Brandon Tulban, an undergraduate student enrolled in the Advanced Earth Materials course, and CPCL researcher, Mohammed Al-Musawi.
